In Aberdeen at last however not without complications.......

I will have to play some catch up sometime for the trip through the former East Germany, and a day trip to Berlin....

Update for now...

We left Berlin the accommodation in  Plaue at around 5:30 Am for Tegel Airport, Berlin. That all went well, as one would expect........Then somehow thinks went a little awry. Boarding and security went OK and the flight to Schiphol Amsterdam, though a little late went well.

The KLM flight was good, snacks and tea, coffee, etc. Landed in Amsterdam, weather was clear and a great view of the Netherlands (first for me and for Monika first since '74.) The delay did result in a mad rush to get to the gate, and a bit of confusion as we were ushered through to the gate. The staff radioed through and the bus waited. All well so far........ we thought.

Arrived Aberdeen (me with a lump in my throat as it's where my deepest roots lie in this beautiful green, cold, and wet land. Kinda figured that things were going a bit pear shaped, when around 10 bags didn't pitch and the conveyor ground to a squeaky halt. We were directed to lost baggage, filled out forms etc. Turns out the staff were on strike in Amsterdam, hence the delays and the missing / unloaded luggage. Great helpful staff at the lost baggage mob, and our gear is supposedly on the next flight.

While we waited for the Motor-home pickup point to open , we had bite to eat and a pint - my first Haggis for the trip and the first local pumped beer. :-).

A short walk to pick up the motor-home, and a planned trip to Aberdeen shops to do groceries and a bit of sight seeing. Well then..... NO MOTOR-HOME!!! WTF.

Ah well, to cut a long story short, a trip for one of their staff to collect a replacement vehicle, some incident occurred, and there was no vehicle here. I estimate a 5 hr round trio to Edinburgh for them to collect the vehicle, and get us on the road, hopefully with all luggage.

At least we are warm, sage, in the Mariot hotel, with coffees, beets etc, and free WiFi, hence the waffle.
